Andrew May

Andrew May is a dedicated associate attorney at Envision Family Law in Bellevue, Washington. With more than a decade of exclusive practice in family law, he specializes in divorce and custody matters. His extensive litigation experience is complemented by his proficiency as a skilled mediator.

Andrew's legal journey began after graduating from Dartmouth College with a degree in political science. He pursued his legal education at the University of Maryland School of Law, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class with high honors. During law school, Andrew was recognized for his excellence, serving as a teaching assistant for first-year legal writing courses and receiving the Meyerowitz Prize for the best brief in Maryland’s annual appellate advocacy competition.

A third-generation family law attorney, Andrew's passion for law was evident early on. His high school mock trial success led to a judge offering him a clerkship, contingent upon completing law school.

Andrew is adept at both courtroom advocacy and mediation. Understanding the stress and expense of court proceedings, he diligently works to resolve disputes amicably without compromising his clients' interests. He received training in interest-based mediation from the University of Washington and co-led a professional group focused on developing out-of-court solutions.

Andrew believes in achieving results that restore stability in clients' lives. As he states, “The measure of a good result must include its cost and durability – whether it restores rather than erodes stability in our clients’ lives and livelihood.”
