Houda's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Environmental Engineering, from Southern Methodist University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Her early career included an internship at GE Power Systems in Dallas, Texas. She earned her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University in 2005 and later acquired an L.L.M in Intellectual Property and Information Law from the University of Houston in 2011.

Her diverse legal background spans various areas of intellectual property and business law. Houda has drafted numerous patent applications across fields like computer software, business methods, oil and gas, consumer electronics, and home goods. Her client base ranges from large Fortune 500 companies to small and micro enterprises.
