Scott McCarthy

Scott McCarthy has dedicated his career to trial law since 1991, becoming one of the most experienced attorneys in southern Wisconsin. He has tried numerous cases across Rock, Dane, Waukesha, and Jefferson Counties, consistently achieving success, even at the Supreme Court level. In 2007, Scott's expertise was recognized by a prominent Madison firm, leading to his role in their litigation team. He established the Janesville branch of the Murphy Desmond law firm and was appointed to its Litigation Executive Committee, where he played a pivotal role in guiding the litigation department and mentoring young attorneys.

Over the past two decades, Scott has secured multiple million-dollar verdicts in personal injury cases, including a record $3.1 million accident injury verdict in 2009. His litigation experience extends to representing major corporations in complex cases, such as airport runway construction in Milwaukee and the handling of sensitive information on computer systems.

In 2012, Scott returned to his roots by opening the McCarthy Law Office, LLC in Milton, driven by his commitment to his family. This move allows clients to benefit from his extensive big firm experience at more accessible rates. Scott's practice areas include family law, personal injury, wills and probate, criminal law, OWI, and general practice.

Scott's legal career began with his election as Rock County District Attorney in 1994, where he served as the county's lead prosecutor for two years. During his tenure, he prosecuted five homicide cases, securing convictions in each. He also built strong relationships with local law enforcement and various agencies across Rock County and surrounding areas.
