Tanner Woods Pittman

Tanner Woods Pittman offers extensive legal expertise to both individual and large organizational clients, focusing on estate services, civil litigation, and law transactions. His experience in retail banking and international business enhances his ability to address a wide range of legal challenges.

Education and Background
Tanner graduated with honors from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he concentrated on business law, studying areas such as corporations, corporate taxation, closely held organizations, and business negotiations. Before attending law school, he managed at Athens First Bank & Trust Co. in Georgia and earned a magna cum laude degree in German and International Trade from Clemson University. His international experience includes studying abroad in Trier, Germany, and Lyon, France, and working at Credit Suisse Banking in Basel, Switzerland. Tanner is fluent in German and Romanian and conversant in French.

Memberships and Offices
Tanner is a member of the Georgia State Bar and is authorized to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and all superior and lower Georgia courts. He is actively involved with the American Bar Association, the Board of Directors of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra, the LaGrange Lions Club, and Covenant Presbyterian Church. He also served as President of the Wellington Subdivision Property Owners’ Association, Inc.

Achievements
Tanner served as Executive Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law in 2005 and 2006. He was awarded the Hughes Spalding full-tuition scholarship at the University of Georgia School of Law, graduating cum laude. He was a top 16 finalist in the 2004 Russell Moot Court Competition, among 200 participants.

Tanner is a dedicated husband and father of two, viewing his legal practice as an extension of his Christian faith.
