About Nika Gholston
Nika Gholston is the Founding and Managing Counsel at Nika Gholston Law (NGL), a prestigious firm with offices in Alabama and Georgia. With more than two decades of experience in counseling and litigation, Nika provides expert advice on complex legal matters, including Estate and Trust Administration, Trademark and Copyright Counseling, and Business Formation. In 2025, NGL was recognized as the 'Best of Alabama' Estate Planning Law Firm, celebrating the state's top businesses and organizations.
An Alabama native, Nika earned her Bachelor of Science from Alabama A&M University in 2001 and her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in 2005. During her time at Cumberland, she focused on Alternative Dispute Resolution and participated in the National Mediation Team, which won first place at the ABA National Mediation Competition in Los Angeles in 2005. The following year, she represented the U.S. at the inaugural International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition in Paris.
In 2005, Nika joined the United States Department of Justice's Community Relations Service as a Conciliation Specialist in Atlanta, GA. Her role involved advising government officials on conflict resolution related to race, color, and national origin, and she played a key role in the Annual Assessment of Racial Tension report.
After her tenure at the DOJ, Nika worked at a prominent litigation firm in Atlanta before founding NGL in 2016. She is actively involved in the legal community, serving on the ASB Board of Bar Examiners and the ASB Bench. Nika is also a former Fellow of the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section and a graduate of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Class 15.
