Kareen O'Brien

Kareen O'Brien has been a valued member of the Stewart Law Group since 2016, bringing extensive legal experience from her career that began in 2004. She spent a significant portion of her career with the L.A. County District Attorney's Office in California, where she served as a Deputy District Attorney and was a Major Crimes Prosecutor. In this role, she handled cases involving serious and violent felonies, particularly focusing on domestic violence, sexual abuse, and assault. Notably, she successfully prosecuted a fraud case with Christopher Darden, known from the O.J. Simpson trial, as corporate counsel.

After relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, Kareen became an active member of the State Bar of Arizona. She then joined the Maricopa County Attorney's Office as a Deputy County Attorney in the Sex Crimes Bureau. With her extensive experience in court, including hundreds of hearings and over 40 jury trials, she excels in uncovering the truth and advocating for justice. Her keen ability to detect false allegations and ulterior motives led her to private practice, where she continues to assist families in crisis, concentrating on divorce and family law.

Kareen's commitment to justice is inspired by her favorite book, "To Kill a Mockingbird." In addition to her expertise in domestic relations and prosecution, she has a proven track record in special education law, estate planning, and construction law. Known for her empathy and ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly, she is a trusted advisor to her clients.

Understanding the emotional and volatile nature of family law, especially in cases involving children, Kareen prioritizes protecting children and ensuring they are placed in safe environments. Outside of her legal work, she enjoys reading, watching movies, building Lego kits, hiking, biking, camping, running marathons, and supporting the Cardinals.
