Douglas Newborn

Douglas Newborn brings a wealth of experience from his extensive military and legal career. As a former Navy Nuclear Submarine Officer and Air Force JAG, he has worked with the Department of Defense and the Department of State. During his deployments to Qatar and Afghanistan, he contributed to drafting the Status of Forces Agreement and Bilateral Security Agreement, signed by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai in September 2014. In his role, Douglas provided weekly briefings to a 1-Star General on Intelligence Law issues and advised the US Central Command on sensitive information releases.

Douglas's educational background is equally impressive. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona College of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. He later obtained his law degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2012. During his time in law school, he received the Ralph E. Long Memorial Award and the Gonzales-Villarreal Bridge Program Award. His practical experience includes working with the Law School's Veterans' Advocacy Clinic, the Federal District Court in Tucson, and the Bankruptcy Court in Tucson. He also argued a case at the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals under the Law School's Pro Bono Appellate program.

Douglas was an Editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, further showcasing his dedication to the legal field. His diverse experience allows him to manage multiple areas of law with efficiency and a personal touch, ensuring clients feel prioritized.
