David Kent Cohn

David K. Cohn, managing partner of Chain | Cohn | Clark, is a prominent trial lawyer in California's Central Valley. He has been acknowledged by the "Best Lawyers in America," a prestigious legal ranking service. Additionally, he was voted Best Lawyer in Kern County by The Bakersfield Californian Readers' Choice Poll and recognized as a "Top Legal Professional" by peers in Bakersfield Life Magazine. David is also a Super Lawyer in Southern California, a distinction awarded to the top 5 percent of attorneys in the region, and he holds a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating.

Throughout his career, David has secured numerous multi-million dollar verdicts for his clients. Notably, he obtained $10 million for a client with severe burn injuries from an oilfield accident and another $10 million for a client who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident. His primary concern is helping clients rebuild their lives after traumatic events.

David is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the prestigious International Society of Barristers. He has served on the Board of Governors for the Consumer Attorneys of California and is a past president of the Kern County Trial Lawyers Association.

Raised in Bakersfield, David graduated from West High School before earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California. He then attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, where he clerked for Federal Public Defender John Van de Kamp. After completing his education, David returned to Bakersfield, joined the firm, and became its managing partner in 2000.
