Joseph Pluta

Joseph Pluta is a distinguished attorney with a focus on Workers’ Compensation law, also excelling in Social Security Disability and Personal Injury cases. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, he pursued his undergraduate studies at Brown University, graduating in 1971. He then earned his law degree from the University of San Diego in 1978. That same year, he was admitted to the California Bar and is authorized to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of California.

For more than 46 years, Mr. Pluta has been a steadfast advocate for injured workers. He is a certified specialist in Workers’ Compensation law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction shared by only a select group of attorneys in the Bakersfield region. Over the course of his career, he has successfully assisted over 5,000 injured workers in obtaining Workers' Compensation benefits.

Mr. Pluta has participated in approximately 1,500 hearings and trials before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, applying his extensive expertise to each proceeding. Beyond his primary focus, he has effectively represented clients in Social Security Disability and Personal Injury cases.
