Michael Cohen

Michael Cohen leads the Cohen IP Law Group, P.C. with a focus on intellectual property, business, and entertainment law. As a registered patent legal counsel with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Mr. Cohen is proficient in all aspects of IP litigation, including patent infringement, validity and enforceability, trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, and interference with contractual relations.

Mr. Cohen is skilled in handling UDRP proceedings, cybersquatting, and domain name disputes, consistently securing preliminary injunctions against cybersquatters. He is adept at providing patent and trademark validity and infringement opinions across diverse technical fields.

He has extensive experience in arguing and preparing motions and briefs before the United States District Courts, the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board (TTAB), and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC). Frequently retained by entertainment and business law firms, Mr. Cohen manages specialized matters concerning client patent and trademark portfolios and resolves infringement disputes.

In addition to litigation, Mr. Cohen advises clients on entertainment transactions and IP transactional matters, including licensing strategies, joint development, service provider agreements, confidentiality agreements, and Internet-based terms of use and privacy policies.
