Brian K. McHugh

Brian K. McHugh brings over two decades of dedicated experience in criminal law and procedure, serving clients in Douglas County, Colorado. As a former Deputy District Attorney and Chief Deputy District Attorney in the 18th Judicial District, he has handled a broad spectrum of cases, including 1st Degree Murder, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping, Vehicular Assault, and Criminal Impersonation. Additionally, his expertise extends to DUI, DUID, Misdemeanor Assault, Domestic Violence, Harassment, Disturbing the Peace, and Misdemeanor Traffic Offenses.

During his tenure at the District Attorney's Office, Brian was an integral part of the Critical Incident Team, responding to officer-involved shootings and in-custody deaths. He also contributed to the education of law enforcement officers and prosecutors by teaching classes on criminal law and procedure. Moreover, he has briefed and argued cases in Colorado's appellate courts.
