Rafael Echemendia was born and raised in Polk County, Florida, and is an alumnus of Auburndale High School, class of 1984. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Florida and completed his Juris Doctor degree at The Ohio State University College of Law in 1997.
Upon his admission to the Florida Bar in April 1998, Rafael began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender. Initially handling misdemeanor cases, he swiftly advanced to the Felony division, where he managed a diverse range of cases, including drug possession and murder.
In 1999, Rafael transitioned to private practice, joining a reputable criminal defense law firm. He later co-founded the Law Offices of Allen and Echemendia in February 2000 with his colleague William Allen. After years of successful collaboration, Rafael established the Echemendia Law Firm in January 2009.
Rafael's current focus is on defending individuals in criminal matters, such as DUI, drug trafficking, and murder charges. He also represents clients in divorce and child custody disputes, maintaining a strong presence in the fields of criminal defense, family law, and personal injury.
