He earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with minors in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Idaho in 1993, spending a semester at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas. He received his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1997.
Chad began his legal career as a District Court law clerk in Twin Falls, Idaho, before joining the Canyon County Prosecutor's Office in 1998. By December 2001, he transitioned to private practice, focusing on criminal and family law.
