Joseph Murphy

Joseph D. Murphy is the current president of Meyer Capel in Champaign, Illinois. His legal career began after completing law school, followed by a two-year clerkship with a federal district court judge. Mr. Murphy initially practiced law at a Wall Street firm, where he developed a strong background in trademark licensing and intellectual property litigation.

In 1994, Mr. Murphy returned to Champaign-Urbana and joined Meyer Capel. His practice has since focused on intellectual property matters, including franchise licensing, as well as telecommunications law. Later, he expanded his expertise at a firm based in Washington, D.C., concentrating on franchise litigation and counseling.
