Michael F. Bonamarte IV

Michael F. Bonamarte IV serves as the managing partner at Levin & Perconti in Chicago, where he is acclaimed for his exceptional work in birth injury and medical malpractice cases. Raised in Highland Park, Michael has dedicated his career to advocating for families affected by negligence.

Among his notable achievements, Michael secured a $40 million verdict for a 19-year-old with disabilities, marking the largest medical malpractice verdict in Illinois outside Cook County and setting a record in Coles County. He also achieved a $29 million settlement for a child who suffered brain damage due to a delayed C-section at UIC Medical Center, finalized just before closing arguments. Additionally, he obtained a $27 million settlement for a mother and son harmed by preventable HIE/asphyxia at birth due to a delayed cesarean section, and a $6 million CILA settlement for a family impacted by group home negligence.

Michael's accomplishments have placed him among Illinois’ leading trial lawyers. His consistent excellence has been recognized by Super Lawyers for over a decade, progressing from “Rising Star” to being named a Top 100 Super Lawyer in Illinois for 2024. He is also listed in Leading Lawyers and was honored as one of the “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch.”

Beyond his legal practice, Michael is actively involved in the legal community.
