Thomas J. Hansen

Thomas J. Hansen was born in Chicago, Illinois, and spent his formative years on the South Side of Chicago and in Park Ridge, Illinois. He currently resides in Park Ridge with his wife and three children.

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and a Certified Public Accountant Certificate from the University of Illinois. He furthered his education with a Master of Science in Taxation from DePaul University and earned his Juris Doctor with Distinction from John Marshall Law School.

He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Illinois Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Northwest Suburban Bar Association, American Association of Legal Counsel-Certified Public Accountants, Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Before establishing his legal practice in 1996, Thomas gained extensive experience with the Internal Revenue Service, where he served for over twenty-three years. His roles included five years as an Internal Revenue Agent, five years as an International Examiner, and more than thirteen years as an Appeals Officer.

Since 1996, Thomas has dedicated his practice to the resolution of tax controversies, estate planning, asset protection, and Medicaid planning.
