Hugh W. Barrow

Hugh W. Barrow brings over seventeen years of expertise in Divorce and Family Law as a founding partner of Barrow Brown Carrington, PLLC, based in Louisville, Kentucky. Dedicated to providing personal and empathetic service, Hugh offers both high-end litigation and out-of-court solutions for divorce.

Throughout the Louisville region and its surrounding counties, Hugh has represented thousands in court, earning numerous awards for his trial skills. His significant courtroom experience includes roles as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in family court and a Warning Order Lawyer for the Jefferson Circuit Court.

Originally from South Carolina, Hugh's career spans several states, including Maine, Vermont, Seattle, and Alabama, before settling in Washington, D.C., where he practiced law in various firms and NGOs. Now residing in Louisville, he has been recognized by Louisville Magazine as one of Kentucky’s “Top Lawyers” and named among the Top 40 Trial Lawyers Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers.

Hugh holds a J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, an LL.M. from the University of Washington School of Law, an M.S. from Samford University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. He is a member of the Louisville Bar Association (Family Law Section) and the Kentucky Bar Association.

Outside of his legal practice, Hugh is a married father of two, with interests in whitewater kayaking, scuba diving, and music. He also serves on boards of nonprofit organizations and is a passionate Auburn Tigers football fan.
