Joseph Gilsoul

Joseph Gilsoul has practiced law for more than four decades, emphasizing estate planning, trusts, successions (probate), Medicaid, VA benefits, Social Security disability appeals, asset protection planning, and general family counseling. He understands that each client has unique needs, and he crafts individualized plans to safeguard their well-being and assets over the long term.

Joseph frequently shares his expertise through seminars for the public, financial planners, and professional groups. He has also been honored to present at legal education seminars sponsored by the LSU Law Center, Tulane Law School, and the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Born and raised in Montana, Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army at 17, serving a year in Vietnam. He later attended the University of South Florida, graduating with honors in accounting. His career includes roles at the U.S. General Accounting Office and the Internal Revenue Service in New Orleans. While working full-time at the IRS, he attended Loyola Law School at night.

Upon graduating from law school, Joseph joined a mid-sized Shreveport firm, where he practiced for 31 years. On August 1, 2016, he established his own practice, Gilsoul & Aronson, LLC, with esteemed colleague Lee Aronson.
