Richard Joseph Steinmetz

Richard J. Steinmetz, Jr. serves as a partner at The Law Offices of Baldwin, Briscoe & Steinmetz, P.C., where he specializes in civil and criminal litigation. His practice areas include personal injury, business, and real estate property disputes.

Mr. Steinmetz joined the firm after a seven-year tenure at Andrews, Bongar, Gormley & Clagett, P.A. in Waldorf, Maryland. He brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles, handling cases from small claims to major commercial litigation, and has appeared in the Maryland Appellate courts.

Raised in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Mr. Steinmetz earned his Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science from East Stroudsburg University in 1998. He then pursued his legal education at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2001, along with a certificate in Law and Public Policy.

During his time in Washington D.C., Mr. Steinmetz gained valuable experience as a law clerk for the Republican National Committee, the National Association of HomeBuilders, and the Law Offices of Patrick G. Senftle, P.C. He is admitted to practice in Maryland, the U.S. District Court for Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Steinmetz is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the St. Mary's County Bar Association. He currently resides in La Plata, Maryland with his wife, Susan, and their two daughters. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys family time, traveling, reading, and outdoor activities.
