Alison Silber

Alison Silber is a respected attorney with a focus on family law, mediation, and negotiation. After earning her degree cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, she joined Teach For America, teaching English to low-income students in New Orleans. She then pursued her legal education at the University of Maryland School of Law, where she excelled as a member of the negotiation team, winning the school's negotiation competition.

At the University of Maryland, Attorney Silber was a student attorney in the Mediation Clinic and achieved certification in both mediation and family law mediation. She has mediated various domestic relations cases, as well as disputes in the District Court of Baltimore City, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Maryland Home Improvement Commission. Her legal studies culminated in a concentration in alternative dispute resolution.

Attorney Silber's professional journey includes clerking for the Honorable Zinora M. Mitchell-Rankin at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on the domestic relations calendar. Her experience extends to work with the Immigrant Women Program at Legal Momentum and the Sexual Assault Institute of Maryland, providing her with a profound understanding of the court system and a compassionate approach to divorce cases.

In addition to her legal practice, Attorney Silber co-authored the article "Custody of Children in Mixed-Status Families: Preventing the Misunderstanding and Misuse of Immigration Status in State-Court Custody Proceedings," published in the Summer 2013 issue of Family Law Quarterly. She is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
