Stephen Shaver

Stephen Shaver is a dedicated associate attorney at Wachler & Associates, P.C., where he focuses on representing healthcare providers and suppliers in Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor audit defenses. His expertise also extends to handling licensing and regulatory compliance matters for health professionals and facilities.

Stephen earned his law degree from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he was a regular on the Dean’s List. During his studies, he participated in the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition and contributed as a staff editor for the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy. He was awarded a CALI award for his top performance in the Prosecution Clinic and completed internships with several government agencies, including the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

Prior to law school, Stephen obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Notre Dame. He began his legal career as a Deputy County Attorney in Phoenix, Arizona, focusing on prosecuting violent and gang-related crimes.

Before joining Wachler & Associates, Stephen gained significant experience in the Homicide Unit of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. His role included handling high-profile prosecutions and serving as first chair trial counsel in over a dozen jury trials, with nearly all resulting in convictions.

Stephen is licensed to practice law in both Michigan and Arizona. He is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Health Care Law Section and the State Bar of Arizona.
