Eric Olson

Eric J. Olson has devoted his legal career to the field of criminal law, concentrating on DWI defense. With more than two decades of experience, he has successfully defended clients facing a wide range of criminal charges. His extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts has led to numerous acquittals in serious felony cases, including first-degree murder, drug offenses, DWI, criminal sexual conduct, and assault.

Licensed in Minnesota, Mr. Olson's career encompasses both prosecution and defense roles. He previously served as an assistant county attorney at the Olmsted County Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted adult felony charges in district court and handled criminal appeals in Minnesota's appellate courts. Additionally, he has shared his legal expertise as an adjunct instructor at Winona State University.

Eric J. Olson has contributed to legal scholarship through his article, “Disenfranchisement,” which examines the challenges felons face regarding voting rights in Minnesota. His professional excellence has been consistently recognized by Law & Politics magazine, which named him a “Rising Star” and “Super Lawyer,” honors awarded to only 5% of criminal lawyers in the state.

Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Olson enjoys family time, golf, fishing, and relaxing at the cabin.
