James Heidelberg

James H. Heidelberg has been a prominent figure in the Pascagoula legal community since his admission to the Bar in January 1978. Specializing in trial and appellate litigation across personal injury, governmental law, and professional liability, he has presented over eighty cases to the Mississippi Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Heidelberg is a trusted representative for several Mississippi governmental agencies and political subdivisions and is an approved attorney for the Mississippi Tort Claims Board.

Mr. Heidelberg is also an approved arbitrator for the Mississippi Bar's Court Annexed Mediation Project and the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD). He actively engages in mediation and arbitration, offering governmental and policy consultation to both state and national clients, as well as advisory services to governmental entities and public officials.

A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Mr. Heidelberg earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Finance, and later received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Mississippi. Notably, he was the first legal intern to argue before the Mississippi Supreme Court in 1977, achieving a reversal of a capital murder conviction.

As a founding member of the University of Southern Mississippi Law Society, he has held various roles within the USM Alumni Association and the USM Foundation. His professional affiliations include the Mississippi Bar, Mississippi Bar Foundation, Jackson County Bar Association, Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, Mississippi Claims Association, The Defense Research Institute, American Inns of Court, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
