Alexander R Vail

Alexander Randolph Vail leads the Law Office of Alexander R. Vail, L.L.C. as the managing partner in Clark County, Nevada. Alex's practice focuses on immigration and criminal law, where he offers comprehensive legal services to his clients. Before establishing his own firm, Alex was the head of the Immigration Department at the Las Vegas Defense Group, L.L.C., where he continues to serve as of-counsel. In this role, he collaborates with criminal defense attorneys on immigration issues impacting noncitizen defendants facing criminal charges.

Alex's legal career includes serving as a law clerk with the Appeals Unit, Criminal Division, at the Clark County District Counsel’s Office. There, he managed criminal appeals to the Nevada Supreme Court and handled various post-conviction motions and petitions. Prior to his time in Las Vegas, Alex was a Legal Professional Advisor with the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge at the Executive Office for Immigration Review, U.S. Department of Justice. He was stationed at the Orlando Immigration Court, advising judges on bond and removal matters.

Alex graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where he earned one of the top scores on the Florida bar exam. His achievement granted him the honor of being the featured speaker at the Florida Fifth District Court of Appeals October 2014 Bar Induction Ceremony. During law school, Alex completed externships at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office and in the chambers of the Honorable Adalberto Jordan, Circuit Judge at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He also engaged in a year-long internship at the University of Miami's prestigious Immigration Clinic.

Alex is admitted to practice law in both Nevada and Florida, and he is dedicated to defending the rights of his clients at both trial and appellate levels.
