Alexander R Vail

Alexander Randolph Vail is the managing partner of the Law Office of Alexander R. Vail, L.L.C., based in Ely, Nevada. Alex offers expert legal services in immigration and criminal defense. He is licensed to practice law in Nevada and Florida.

Before founding his own practice, Alex was the head of the Immigration Department at the Las Vegas Defense Group, L.L.C. He continues to work with the firm as of-counsel, providing insights on immigration matters for noncitizen defendants involved in criminal cases.

Alex's previous experience includes serving as a law clerk with the Appeals Unit, Criminal Division, at the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. There, he managed criminal appeals to the Nevada Supreme Court and various post-conviction motions and petitions.

Prior to his time in Las Vegas, Alex worked as an Attorney Advisor for the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge at the Executive Office for Immigration Review, U.S. Department of Justice. His role at the Orlando Immigration Court involved advising judges on bond and removal issues.

Alex graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. He achieved one of the highest scores on the Florida bar examination and was the featured speaker at the Florida Fifth District Court of Appeals October 2014 Bar Induction Ceremony. During law school, Alex completed externships at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office and with the Honorable Adalberto Jordan, Circuit Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He also interned for a year at the University of Miami’s Immigration Clinic.

Alex possesses extensive experience in all stages of immigration and criminal cases, both at the trial and appellate levels, demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting the rights of his clients.
