Anthony L. Velasquez

Anthony L. Velasquez, Esquire, is a distinguished NJ real estate and foreclosure attorney with extensive experience across various legal arenas. As in-house counsel for a prominent real estate investment and management company in New Jersey, he specializes in tax lien investments, multi-family complexes, and healthcare facilities throughout the northeast.

With more than 24 years of practice in New Jersey, Mr. Velasquez has a robust background. He previously ran his own law firm for ten years and has also worked with several mid-sized law firms in Central New Jersey. His legal expertise spans a wide range of real estate matters, including residential and commercial sales, title litigation, tax sale certificate foreclosures, mortgages, leasing, environmental and construction law, as well as business litigation, government procurement, employment law, and administrative law.

Mr. Velasquez is well-versed in various real estate-related issues, including residential and commercial sales, title issues, tax lien investments and foreclosures, leasing, construction liens, and tax appeals. He has successfully represented clients before all levels of the NJ Superior Courts, the NJ Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Notably, he successfully argued the landmark case Simon v. Cronecker, 189 NJ 304 (2007), which addressed the rights of distressed property owners facing tax foreclosure.

Mr. Velasquez holds a Bachelor's degree from The College of New Jersey, a Master's degree from the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University, and a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University, School of Law at Camden. In addition to his legal practice, he has lectured on litigation, real estate, and foreclosure throughout New Jersey and served as an adjunct professor at The College of New Jersey, where he taught Business Law.
