Matthew Dane Powell

Matthew Dane Powell is a highly skilled litigator known for his dedication to client protection. He is a key member of Payne, Powell, Truitt & Chandler, following a notable career as the elected Criminal District Attorney for Lubbock County, Texas. In this role, he was a staunch advocate for victims, representing their interests in over 300 jury trials, including approximately 60 murder cases and 17 capital murder cases, achieving a flawless record in felony cases.

Beyond criminal litigation, Matthew served as chief counsel for Lubbock County, overseeing civil lawsuits, contracts, and other legal matters. His legal expertise has been featured on various television programs such as NBC Dateline, ABC 20/20, 48 Hours, Forensic Files, Investigative Discovery, Solved, and Crime Watch Daily.
