Valerie S. Wolfman

Valerie S. Wolfman has dedicated over three decades to practicing Family, Matrimonial, and Divorce Law, with a focus on Child Custody, Divorce, and Equitable Distribution. Her expertise extends to international cases, addressing issues like the validity of French, Chilean, or Swiss pre-nuptial agreements, and determining the appropriate jurisdiction for divorce proceedings in countries such as France, New York, or Australia. She also manages relocation disputes involving child custody.

In addition to her family law practice, Ms. Wolfman has litigated will contests and established heirship with genealogical support. She has served as a guardian in guardianship cases, demonstrating her comprehensive legal skills. Fluent in French, German, and Swiss-German, she brings a multicultural perspective to her work.

Admitted to the New York Bar in 1989 and the New Jersey Bar in 1990, Ms. Wolfman is authorized to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is an active member of both the New York State Bar Association and the New York Women’s Bar Association.

Her published cases include significant decisions such as Blondin v. Dubois (2001, 1999, 2000) and In Re Extradition of Thi Ha Vu (2016). She also worked on Matter of Kenward v. Browner, a companion case to Tropea v. Tropea, and People ex rel. Geiser v. Valentine (2007), highlighting her extensive legal contributions.
