Peter J. Famighetti

Peter J. Famighetti is a dedicated advocate with extensive experience in employment law. He has represented clients in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and in New York State Courts. Over the course of his career, which spans more than ten years, Peter has served as counsel for both defendants and plaintiffs in single and class action employment-related litigation. Notably, he recently secured a jury trial victory in a First Amendment retaliation case in Federal Court.

Peter's practice includes significant experience in arbitration tribunals and before administrative agencies such as the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and New York City's Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings. He has achieved numerous successful outcomes for clients in court, arbitration, and mediation settings.

Before entering private practice, Peter served as a Deputy County Attorney at the Office of the Nassau County Attorney. In this role, he represented Nassau County and its departments in employment and labor matters and participated in contract negotiations with labor unions. Following his public service, and prior to founding Famighetti & Weinick, Peter was a Senior Associate at a prominent employment law firm in Long Island and New York City, where he managed a complex caseload in employment-related issues.
