About Richard William Young
Richard W. Young began his journey on Long Island, where he pursued his education at Long Island University, C.W. Post College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors. Following his graduation, he joined the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department as an officer, where he was honored with the Jack P. Finnerty Award for Academic Excellence.
Pursuing a lifelong ambition, Young transitioned to the New York City Police Department. As a highly decorated officer, he graduated in the top 1% of his police academy class. Throughout his career, he served in elite units, including the Tactical Patrol Force and the Street Crime Unit, and worked as an investigator with the Organized Control Bureau Narcotics Division, making many notable arrests.
In 1985, Young advanced to the rank of police sergeant, and by 1986, he was leading the Midtown South Precinct Anti-Crime Unit. Unfortunately, a serious injury sustained in the line of duty in 1988 led to his early retirement from the force.
After leaving law enforcement, Young attended St. John’s School, subsequently gaining admission to practice law in the Courts of New York State. He established his own law firm, where he has effectively managed thousands of legal cases, leveraging his extensive experience, knowledge, and resources to benefit his clients.
