About Gary Johnston Dean
After earning his degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in July 1966, Gary Johnston Dean began his legal career in Pryor, Oklahoma. He joined forces with renowned trial lawyer Tony Jack Lyons as an Associate, and they quickly formed a partnership. During this time, Gary was involved in approximately 39 homicide cases, achieving notable success with only one client receiving a minimal prison sentence.
Gary notably defended a client in what is believed to be the first murder case in Oklahoma with an 'Extreme Domestic Violence' defense. His client, who had fatally shot her husband in front of over 15 witnesses, was acquitted and released after nearly a year in jail.
In 1982, Gary established his own successful practice, focusing on business, corporate, and general law. He served as local counsel for several Fortune 500 companies at the Mid-America Industrial Park. In January 1999, he was appointed as a Special District Judge for the 12th Judicial District of Oklahoma, covering Rogers, Mayes, and Craig Counties. He held this position until his retirement in 2010.
Returning to private practice in 2015, Gary continues to leverage his extensive legal experience in serving his clients.
