Theressa Hollis

Theressa Hollis is a seasoned attorney at Fitzwater Law, where she has been a partner for 22 years. Her legal expertise is centered around guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, probate estates, trust administration, and estate planning. She finds particular satisfaction in handling emergency guardianships and conservatorships. Theressa earned her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law in 1998.

Theressa is passionate about demystifying the legal process for clients, especially during crises. Her commitment to reliability and thoroughness is evident in her work. Her background in psychology from Linfield College enhances her ability to assist those in need, making elder law and estate planning an ideal fit for her.

A dedicated volunteer, Theressa contributes to the Legal Aid Service’s Senior Law Project, offering pro bono assistance to seniors. She also educates fellow attorneys as a faculty speaker for the Oregon Law Institute and the Multnomah Bar Association, focusing on probate administration and guardianships. Currently, she serves as the Treasurer of the Executive Committee for the Elder Law Section of the Oregon State Bar.

Theressa actively applies her skills to benefit her community. She is the second-term President and a founding board member of Guardian Partners, a non-profit organization committed to preventing abuse and neglect among the elderly and disabled. As a former Co-Editor of the Oregon State Bar’s Elder Law Handbook in 2017, she was honored with the Oregon State Bar President’s Public Service Award for her volunteer efforts. Her professional affiliations include Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS), Clackamas County Elder Abuse Coordinated Community Response Team, Guardian/Conservator Association of Oregon, and Oregon Working Interdisciplinary Network of Guardianship Stakeholders (WINGS).
