Darth M Newman

Darth M Newman is a seasoned trial attorney and certified mediator with extensive experience in complex commercial litigation and plaintiff’s side whistleblower cases. He has successfully tried cases involving shareholder disputes, fraud, insider dealing, and fiduciary duty matters, often dealing with multi-million dollar stakes. His representation of whistleblowers spans nationwide, addressing fraud against the government in areas such as healthcare systems, devices, government contracting, and loan fraud.

Darth's trial portfolio includes federal jury trials, Delaware Chancery Court trials, and various state court trials and arbitrations. He has also briefed and argued motions and appeals in both federal and state courts. Notably, he contributed to a landmark en banc Federal Circuit decision that struck down a portion of the Lanham Act as unconstitutional, a decision later upheld by the United States Supreme Court.

In addition to his trial work, Darth is a proficient negotiator, known for resolving complex disputes outside the courtroom. His excellence has been recognized with an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a Client Champion Gold rating. He is also acknowledged as a “Rising Star” and “Super Lawyer” by SuperLawyers, and is listed among the top 100 lawyers in Pennsylvania by the National Trial Lawyers.

An active member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Darth has served as Chair of the Professional Ethics Committee and is an elected officer of the Council of the Federal Court Section. He is involved with the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Professional Ethics and Federal Specialty Committees, and is an approved mediator and Early Neutral Evaluator for WDPA Federal Court. Additionally, he serves as a Hearing Committee Member for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
