Gregory H. Mathews

Gregory H. Mathews brings extensive experience in both commercial litigation and corporate counseling. Prior to joining private practice, he served as Special Counsel to the Office of Disclosure Policy at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. During his tenure, he contributed to the Corporate Governance Project and co-authored the Staff Report on Corporate Accountability for the U.S. Senate in 1980.

Upon transitioning to private practice, Greg led the securities law division of a notable Philadelphia firm. His work encompassed handling public and private securities offerings, advising on Securities Exchange Act reporting, and providing compliance counseling to investment advisers. He also defended corporate officers and directors involved in securities litigation and SEC investigations.

From 1994 to 2004, Greg was a key legal strategist at Wachovia Corporation, where he served as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel. He managed a caseload of over 300 cases, dealing with class actions, employment disputes, contract issues, and trust administration, alongside SEC and NASD claims. In 2004, he re-entered private practice, focusing on business disputes such as civil RICO and business torts, while also advising employers on protecting confidential information and employment matters.
