Lisa Bothwell

Lisa Bothwell, a partner in the Business & Finance Department, is renowned for her expertise in handling both complex and smaller-scale transactions efficiently. She has successfully closed numerous M&A deals on both the buy and sell sides within the low to middle market. Beyond mergers and acquisitions, Lisa offers comprehensive advisory services to business clients on capital raises, business succession planning, business separations, joint ventures, phantom interest plans, and corporate governance. As a trusted advisor, she serves as outside general counsel to many family-owned businesses and start-ups across various industries.

Lisa is adept at negotiating and preparing operating agreements, partnership agreements, and shareholder agreements. Her legal practice also extends to estate planning and nonprofit law. Her dedication and skill have earned her a spot on the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2020 to 2025, an honor limited to no more than 2.5% of Pennsylvania attorneys under 40 or in practice for 10 years or less.

Before pursuing her legal education, Lisa gained valuable experience as a paralegal at a boutique entertainment law firm in New York City. She earned her law degree from the Boston University School of Law, where she contributed as an Editor for the Review of Banking and Financial Law and completed an externship at the Office of Chief Counsel (Internal Revenue Service). Lisa is also a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
