Richard Sinapi

Richard A. Sinapi leads Sinapi Law Associates, Ltd. in Warwick, focusing on governmental affairs and employment law. His areas of expertise include discrimination, harassment, leave act claims, unemployment benefits, minimum wage and overtime issues, workers' compensation, civil rights, municipal law, real estate, and personal injury.

With more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Sinapi has a broad practice in general civil litigation and real estate law, encompassing both trial and appellate work. He provides corporate and commercial law advice, representation, document preparation, and transaction closings.

Mr. Sinapi has co-drafted and successfully lobbied for multiple legislative pieces and revised agency regulations, representing clients such as the local chapter of the ACLU, a home inspector’s association, and various construction industry entities. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Bryant University and Salve Regina University.

He is actively involved in the legal community, participating in the Rhode Island Superior Court Bench/Bar Committee, Workers' Compensation Bench/Bar Committee, American Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, American Association of Justice, and the Rhode Island Association of Justice (RIAJ).

As a cooperating attorney with the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (RIACLU), he serves on the RIAJ Board of Governors and chairs the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation. In 2010, he received the William G. McLoughlin First Amendment Award from the RIACLU. Mr. Sinapi holds degrees from Colby College and Harvard Law School.
