Raised in Pulaski, TN, John Chadwick Long graduated from Giles County High School in 1995, ranking in the top 10 of his class. He pursued higher education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, earning a Bachelor of Sciences in Communications with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Finance in 2000. During his undergraduate years, he was active in the Student Government Association's Freshman Council and played a pivotal role in the Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity. As a fraternity member, Chad served as Rush Chairman, Alumni Chairman, and Lieutenant Commander, leading efforts to revitalize the alumni association, which earned him the Man of the Year Award in 1999. He remains engaged as the Chapter Advisor and the President of the Epsilon Eta Alumni Association, and he is the National Vice-Chairman of the chapter's fundraising campaign.
In recognition of his efforts, Chad was awarded the Alumni of the Year Award in 2007 and was inducted into the Torchbearer Society in 2010. He completed his legal education at the Nashville School of Law, where he met his wife, Lauren. Graduating in May 2006, Chad passed the Bar Exam on his first attempt in July 2006. He began his legal career specializing in Real Estate law and opened his own practice in October 2007.
