Fiza Syed

Fiza Syed, a native of Houston, Texas, developed an early interest in law through her volunteer work at local legal justice clinics, where she observed the impact of inadequate legal representation. Her dedication to pursuing a legal career led her to intern at the Attorney General Child Support Division after college, gaining valuable insights into family legal matters.

Ms. Syed furthered her legal education by attending the SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas. During her studies, she gained practical experience by interning and clerking at various law firms, focusing on criminal, family, and business law. She also served as a student attorney at the SMU Tax Clinic, where she assisted working-class individuals and families with tax-related legal services.

Upon earning her degree and being admitted to the State Bar of Texas, Ms. Syed took on the role of general counsel for several small businesses and real estate companies. In this capacity, she regularly negotiated contracts, purchase-sale agreements, and complex settlements. Her work included strategic business and tax planning to help clients avoid future legal challenges.
