Melanie Adams Cook

Melanie Adams Cook is a dedicated attorney licensed in both Minnesota and Utah. She actively contributes to her community by volunteering with the Domestic Violence Pro Bono Initiative in Davis County every Wednesday morning. Her commitment to legal education is evident through her role as an adjunct professor at Broadview University, where she teaches law to aspiring paralegals.

Melanie is passionate about mentoring paralegal students, guiding them in their career and academic pursuits. She facilitates volunteer opportunities at law firms and pro bono clinics across Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber Counties. Her educational background is distinguished by a Certificate in Advocacy and Problem Solving, which she earned from Hamline University School of Law in 2012.

In 2011, Melanie made significant contributions to legal scholarship with her article, “Third Party Rights and Child Custody,” published in the Utah Journal of Family Law. That same year, she was honored with the prestigious CALI award for her exceptional writing in Law and Religion. Her academic achievements also include the honorary title of “Best Oralist” during oral arguments in law school in 2010.

Melanie's expertise in conflict resolution is supported by her Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the University of Utah, obtained in 2009. Prior to her legal practice, she built a strong foundation in family law, spending over 15 years as a senior paralegal from 1995 to 2009.
