Douglas Barrett

Douglas Barrett is a distinguished attorney located in Orem, Utah, with a focus on bankruptcy law. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 1993 and holds a certificate in International Law from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1999). He completed his Juris Doctor at Whittier Law School in 2000.

During his time in law school, Mr. Barrett served as an extern Law Clerk to the Honorable James N. Barr at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. Following his graduation, he clerked for the Honorable Lee M. Jackwig at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Iowa.

After completing his clerkship, Mr. Barrett returned to Utah, where he established a law office dedicated to meeting the individual needs of his clients. Having spent much of his life in Utah, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of the state's unique social, business, and legal environment.

Mr. Barrett is an active member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Utah Bar Association, and the Central Utah Bar Association. His peers have recognized him as one of the Legal Elite Bankruptcy Attorneys in Utah, as featured in Utah Business magazine from January 2006 to 2014. Additionally, the American Media Consumer Business Review named him Bankruptcy Attorney of the Year in both 2010 and 2012.
