In 1991, William established the Utah County office for the Salt Lake City firm Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, where he served as managing attorney for three years. In 1994, he founded his own firm in Provo, now known as Fillmore Spencer LLC, the largest local law firm in Utah County.
