Antonio Jason Velez

A. Jason Velez is the founding partner of 1LAW®, a firm he established to offer compassionate and accessible legal services in a contemporary environment. Originating in Saint George, Utah, 1LAW has expanded its reach to serve clients across Utah and Nevada, with plans to extend into Arizona and California.

Velez is an alumnus of the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Utah College of Law, gaining admission to the Utah State Bar in 2001. His international studies at the Universidad de Chile enriched his expertise in areas such as environmental law and immigration.

Actively involved in the Innocence Project, Velez contributes to efforts that use DNA and forensic technology to exonerate wrongly convicted individuals. He is a member of the Utah Association of Justice and has been recognized as one of the Utah Legal Elite in 2005, 2006, and 2011.

Velez is committed to pro bono work and collaborates with non-profit organizations to deliver legal aid to those in need. His representative work includes trying and settling cases exceeding $25 million in total, achieving notable settlements such as $1.25 million for a personal injury case, $5.5 million in a commercial liability claim, and $3.9 million in a semi-auto accident claim.

His successful trial and appellate work includes cases like Moscoso v. Gonzalez in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, Gonzalez-Martinez v. DHS in the Federal District Court, and Lemmon v. Williams in the Fifth District Court.

Velez is happily married and the father of two young sons.
