Ryan A Brown

Ryan A. Brown, originally from Kansas City and raised in California, embarked on his career in the computer industry at just eleven years old by building and repairing personal computers in Santa Barbara. In 1993, he founded a computer and Internet consulting firm and launched the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Santa Barbara.

Ryan pursued higher education at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, earning a BS in Computer Science with departmental and school honors and a BA in Spanish in 2000. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi, Upsilon Pi Epsilon, and the ACM, and has received accolades for his undergraduate research and teaching. Continuing his academic journey at Johns Hopkins, he obtained a Masters of Science and Engineering in Computer Science in May 2002.

Transitioning to law, Ryan achieved his Juris Doctorate Magna Cum Laude in December 2006 from George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. He actively participates in the Arlington County Bar Association and contributes to several pro-bono projects in Northern Virginia, including Wills for Heroes, which offers free wills and estate planning documents to first responders.

Ryan also imparts his knowledge through teaching, conducting an annual Continuing Legal Education class with Professor John L. Costello at George Mason University School of Law and occasionally guest lecturing at the law school.
