Joseph Michael Langone

Joseph Michael Langone brings over twenty-eight years of legal expertise to his role as a legal instructor at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy. Having established his practice in the Northern Virginia area since 1999, he has a rich background in both the financial services and insurance industries prior to his legal career.

Following his law school graduation, Mr. Langone embarked on a successful career as a prosecutor in Florida and Virginia. His experience extends to serving as a magistrate in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Over a span of 19 years, Mr. Langone was engaged in private practice within the DMV area, specializing in criminal and civil litigation, contract and construction law, commercial litigation, bankruptcy law, and personal injury cases, including accidents, slip and falls, toxic mold, and wrongful death claims.

Mr. Langone has significant trial experience across state and federal courts in Virginia, DC, and Maryland. His extensive litigation work includes comprehensive document review, discovery processes, and depositions. He has provided legal support and acted as general counsel for numerous businesses, managing their litigation needs.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Langone has served in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as a legal assistance attorney and as a Staff Judge Advocate in the Virginia State Guard, also known as the Virginia Defense Force.
