About Richard Lowell
Richard Lowell grew up in New York and Pennsylvania before attending the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned a degree in Oceanography in 1978. Following graduation, he served as a nuclear-trained officer aboard the USS Patrick Henry, a nuclear submarine, until 1983. Seeking a new direction, he pursued a legal career, inspired by courtroom dramas and a love for debate. He attended the University of Colorado School of Law, fulfilling a promise to his wife to return to the Pacific Northwest to practice law.
Upon returning to the Seattle area, Richard began his legal career at a prominent downtown law firm. Finding the environment not to his liking, he co-founded Magnuson Lowell, P.S., where he serves as a managing director and primary litigator. His practice areas include civil litigation, serious personal injury claims, professional negligence, premises liability, insurance disputes, and business litigation. Richard's ability to work on both plaintiff personal injury and insurance defense cases gives him a distinctive edge.
Outside of work, Richard is a dedicated family man with three children and numerous grandchildren. He enjoys traveling, especially to Whistler Mountain and his cabin near Leavenworth, as well as attending concerts, watching movies, and riding motorcycles.
