About Aaron Nelson
Aaron Nelson has dedicated his career to defending individuals against governmental power. His expertise has earned him recognition as one of the top 50 Super Lawyers in Criminal Defense in Wisconsin from 2011 to 2023. He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been awarded the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ (WACDL) “Martin Hanson Advocates Prize” seven times (2010, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020). In 2014, Aaron received the prestigious David Niblack Award from WACDL, honoring his significant contributions to the defense of indigent clients.
Aaron's leadership in the legal community is further demonstrated by his past presidency of WACDL. In 2023, he co-founded the Elite Defense Group with two other accomplished criminal defense attorneys. Together, they provide legal services throughout Wisconsin.
In addition to his practice, Aaron is a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education courses across Wisconsin, including the Wisconsin State Public Defender Conference and Trial Skills training.
