Kristen McLaughlin Tarrin

Kristen McLaughlin Tarrin has deep roots in the Eagle River Valley, having grown up in the vibrant community of Vail. After an initial career in the mortgage industry, she pursued her legal education at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, earning both a Juris Doctor and an LLM in Taxation in 2006. Kristen's legal focus is on general litigation with a particular emphasis on family law and divorce.

Kristen's commitment to the legal profession is part of her family legacy. Her father was among the pioneering attorneys in Vail and Eagle County, while her grandfather, known as the "Bootheel Boss," practiced law in Missouri. Kristen completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she double-majored in English and Political Science. Following her graduation, she spent several years in the residential mortgage sector before transitioning to law.

In recognition of her dedication to pro bono work, Kristen received the Northwest Colorado Legal Services Project's 2016 Rebekah A. McBride Award for Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. She resides in Edwards, Colorado, with her husband and their Staffordshire Pitbull Terrier, Auggie. Outside of her legal practice, Kristen enjoys skiing in the winter and golfing in the summer. She is also passionate about competitive powerlifting and juggling kettlebells.
