David Matthew Cedar

David Cedar is recognized for his expertise in catastrophic personal injury claims and complex tort litigation. He co-founded Williams Cedar and was a founding member of Cedar Law Firm, Merovitz & Cedar, L.L.P., and Merovitz, Cedar and Gruber, L.L.C. A graduate of Rutgers State University, School of Law, Camden in 1992, David is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania (1993) and New Jersey (1992), as well as various district courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney in 2001, a distinction held by less than 1% of attorneys in the state, David Cedar focuses on civil class action claims, consumer law, truth in lending violations, predatory financing, toxic tort, environmental law, professional malpractice, constitutional law, and products liability in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

David has successfully brought hundreds of claims to trial, including cases that reached the Supreme Court under consumer fraud acts in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has prosecuted cases against major insurance companies, Fortune 500 banks, title companies, mortgage brokers, bankers, real estate appraisers, builders, car dealerships, and home improvement contractors for deceptive and fraudulent practices.

Notably, David served as co-lead counsel in the Barwood Estates matter in York, Pennsylvania. This consumer fraud claim alleged violations of the Pennsylvania Consumer Fraud Act and Federal RICO law against several Fortune 500 banks and title companies, resulting in a multi-million dollar settlement for numerous homeowners.
