About Anthony Patrick Alfano
Anthony Patrick Alfano graduated from Seton Hall University Law School in 1982. He is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
From 1983 to 1985, Mr. Alfano served as Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor, handling over 1,000 cases. His prosecutorial work included homicides, serious drug and sex offenses, juvenile matters, Municipal Appeals, Krol Hearings, Gun Revocation Hearings, and Expungements.
Since leaving the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office in 1985, Mr. Alfano has focused exclusively on criminal defense. He has represented clients in high-profile cases involving homicide, sexual assault, armed robbery, and major drug distribution. Notably, he defended a Ringwood Councilman in a misappropriation and fraud case and a high-level defendant in the federal investigation of the West New York Police Department, both widely covered in New Jersey.
Mr. Alfano's prosecutorial experience extends to serving as Municipal Prosecutor for the Township of Lyndhurst and the Borough of Wood-Ridge, where he prosecuted numerous DWI and Motor Vehicle cases. Additionally, he has served as Public Defender for the Township of Lyndhurst, the Borough of Rutherford, and currently for the Township of West Orange.
He has also contributed to the legal community through his role on the Bergen County Bar Association Judicial Screening Committee.
