About Laura M. Owings
Laura M. Owings is an accomplished attorney with a focus on nursing home litigation. Raised in Memphis from the age of seven, she graduated from Evangelical Christian School in 1998. Ms. Owings pursued her undergraduate studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, as a Provost Scholarship Recipient, earning a degree in history in 2002.
Inspired to pursue a legal career, Ms. Owings attended the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Her academic achievements included receiving the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award in 2006 and the William B. Leffler Scholarship in 2003 and 2004. As a Notes and Comments Editor for the University of Memphis Law Review, she graduated magna cum laude, ranking sixth in her class.
In October 2007, Ms. Owings joined the law firm of Nahon, Saharovich & Trotz, initially working in the Automobile Accident Practice Group. Her current focus is nursing home litigation, advocating for victims of neglect and abuse. Driven by a strong belief in dignity for all, she is passionate about protecting society's most vulnerable members.
